Finally got to the Library this week, although the first day I went I didn’t get the chance to spend very long there and then I was working for the next 2 days.
On Wednesday I found out that JAL (Japan Airlines) just recently launched a Japan travel website, I’m hoping that this will become a good resource that I can add to my content collection.
Thursday was really my chance to get some proper library research done. Unfortunately I didn’t find as much as I would have hoped. I found two books on Japanese culture, one interesting one about Japanese history and a collection book of Japanese Graphic Design. I did bring along some of my own books to the library and they seemed to be more helpful than what I found in the library. I’m starting to think that a lot of my research is going to be from online sources.
The books were:
- Japan’s History as News, 1988, The Japan Times, Don Kenny
- Pictorial Encyclopedia of Japanese Culture, 1987, Gakken Co
- Japanese Graphics Now, 2003, Taschen, Ed. Gisela Kozak and Julius Wiedemann
- From Japan, 2015, Counter-Print, Leterme Dowling
- Sweet & Nostalgic Designs in Japan, 2014, Yonagadou / PIE International, Takaiyama Inc
